
As AI-driven platforms grow by leaps and bounds, L&D leaders can’t avoid thinking about digital skills. In fact, Canadian businesses have been looking towards a future of rapid technological change long before ChatGPT took over the world’s headlines.
In late 2022, the Conference Board of Canada and the Future Skills Centre produced an issue briefing that found, among other things, that “workplace training and upskilling is key to solving digital skills gaps” (p. 4). Other findings touch on the role of legacy software and the need for advanced skills such as data analysis.
