How to answer

STAR, and the part most people miss.

S

Situation

One or two sentences. Where you were, who the client was, what was at stake. Resist the urge to set the scene for a minute.

T

Task

What you specifically were responsible for. Interviewers are listening for the boundary between you and your team.

A

Action

The longest part. The decisions you made and why, in the order you made them. Name the method or framework you used.

R

Result

A number where you have one, and what you would do differently. The reflection is the part candidates skip and interviewers remember.

Then make it count on paper.
